Should I invest 2 days in Škofja Loka, out of my 7 days travel plan?
What to do, see and must visit there? or only one day is enough?

I think you must see the Skofja Loka Castle.
I don’t think you could miss seeing this Castle that overlooks Skofja Loka.
From the year 973 until 1803, the owners of the castle were the Bishops of Freising. They experienced and earthquake in 1511 here, which meant a lot of the Castle had to be renovated and some new buildings were added, like the Tower with Chapel that was built in 1527.
Then there was remodelling, with the construction of new surrounding residence areas in three levels in the 18th century. From here on, there were many different owner’s, and unfortunately, some of history was destroyed.
The Castle walls, Residential wings, the Four defence Towers are still there.
Since 1959 the castle has been a local museum showing collection’s of items from Skofja Loka and surroundings, archaeological collection, art collection, recent history and more, the website has more details. http://www.loski-muzej.si
Opening Hours:
Tuesday – Sunday: from 10.00 to 6pm (Closed Monday)

Škofja Loka is a thousand-year-old city, he is preserved medieval city in Slovenia. He is still called: “Motley Loka”, because of the picturesque and colourful house facades and the unspoiled nature. If you go there then, you must visit the Loka Castle (built before the 1202 year), Homan’s house, Mark of Mary, Old city hall…
Tourist Association Skofja Loka is located in the old town centre, where you can buy many interesting ethnological souvenirs.
Škofja Loka is a wonderful city with great castle museum, charming old houses, nice rivers, but I think that one day is enough to invest in it.

Well, I don’t know do you should have two or just one day invested, but I know I liked the place.
I would suggest you to visit the Homan’s House.
It is a civil Manor house which was restored after the 1511 earthquake. Of interest, were the frescoes I saw of a medieval Soldier and part of Saint Christopf. You see, these have been there for a long time, but were only discovered during renovation’s in 1970! Luckily, they weren’t completely destroyed.
Now days, we can enjoy a Coffee or a meal here! http://www.slovenia.info/en/dvorec/Homans-House-.htm?dvorec=2642&lng=2

I think you should have two days there. It has really beautiful things to do or see.
I enjoyed there.
Well, while you’re on town sightseeing you should take a look at the Mark of Mary. This is the name of a Fountain I saw in the Upper Town Square.
Mark of Mary was built in the year 1751, as a thank-you for prevention of fire and plague. If you are thirsty, you still can use it for drinking water!
It is located into the upper square old town.

I will write you two things you must see there:
1. Located in a Square, is St. Jacob’s Church, and, the door’s were open! This is another Church that didn’t look much from the outside, but inside, it was lovely! Looking a bit like a Hall, this 15th century Church is built on the foundations of an older Church.
Inside, and there are chandeliers and a newish baptistery. On the ceiling were paintings of guild patrons and noblemen who contributed money towards the construction of the Church.
The Church has used a lot of Black Marble through-out, so is a little different to many I had seen!
2. One very thick walled Town gate, once protected the City. It is located just inside the old Town where the Capuchin Bridge is. You may walk through it on your way to the Bridge, I did!
The Town gate leads through narrow Blazeva Street which is an interesting part of the city.
The road isn’t straight, so it has been described in an old Loka Rhyme as……..
“Skofja Loka, a large city has ne’er been, and will ne’er large appear,
a winding road will take you there, which makes it hard to steer.”
