Well, most countries in the Eastern Bloc will have its citizens over a certain age know Russian, but they will refuse to speak it in most places.
Germany has a big Russian community, Estonians know Russian, Moldova, Ukraine and similar countries speak Russian as well.

The Russian language is somewhat, similar to the other Eastern European speaking languages as it is a Slavic language, but beyond that, hardly anyone speaks Russian.
It was a widely spread learning language in the Eastern European countries in the past, being even more popular the the English language, especially in the elementary schools. However, in recent times, it has been mostly abandoned and the new generations don’t really understand it.

Then you would be in trouble, if you know more Russian then English. No one really speaks the Russian language, except the Russians of course.
