Whatever you get, be sure to go Enoteca Ponte Vecchio. It’s THE place for wine in Florence. You can go there and just ask for recommendations and they’ll be happy to offer some.

Famiglia Anselma Barolo 2000, or Barolo in general is another thing you should go for, since it’s a highly regarded Italian brand. This aprticular one is cheaper than other Barolo wines for some reason. They’re fancy, so they come at a cost.

If you want a real red wine treat, try Brunello di Montalcino. This wine is made of brunello grapes, one of the Sangiovese grape clones, and the grapes are grown in the real Chianti region about 70 miles southwest of Florence. This is one of the more expensive wines in the region, and it ages very well. Because it’s made from a blend of grapes grown in two different microclimates, the Brunello di Montalcino has a very complex flavor, compared to Pinot noirs, and is strong enough to pair with grilled meats and game.

Hi, I must admit that you have nice suggestions here :)
Florence has remarkable wines, most notably the deep red wine Chianti Classico. You’ll also find fine wines like the Brunello di Montalcino, Pomino Vin Santo and other trebiano white wines, and moscadello varieties for sweet wines.
You’ll find wine festivals in Florence more often than in any European city, and during the summer they run almost every week. In addition, every restaurant, every cafe, sometimes every vendor on the street sells Florence’s best wines.
So, you’ll not regret if you are visiting Florence :)

Wonderful suggestions here, but I can add just really human answer, all I tried from Italian wines was wonderful…Probably will need to ask my friend for their names as probably he made the selection.

Or, shortly don’t hesitate to try their centuries tradition, producing wine!

Hello, I have cousins and friends living in Italy. I love the country, I love their wines, and Love their hard and soft cheese. I love the Mozzarella and Parmesan they are going soooo good with sparkling white wine :) I always go in Italy when I have chance and my friends always welcoming me with beautiful wines and specialties…of course Parmesan too … Chianti is good and fine wine but with strong taste.
You’ll not make mistake if you try various wines – everyone has different taste for everything :)
And I must say – every answer is human answer :)

Italy has the best wines, my husband and i were in Florence last summer visiting our friends. I must admit that some of the best wines I have ever drunk were Italian. Florence has more than one beatiful wine, but I can tell which was my favorite wine. Chianti Colli Fiorentini is made with perfect purple Sangiovese grapes. These grapes give Chianti a unique flavor, with a fruity aroma and spicy undernotes. Sure do not have to mean that you will like it also, here is about personal taste.

Chianti is basically an Italian wine and is packed in a straw basket called fiasco. Chianti is a Sangiovese-based red wine and is easily the best known wine of Italy. Chianti that is labelled as “Reserva” must have been aged at least three years. When you will try it you will know why it’s the best.
